A modular multi-level construction (12 modules in the presented configuration). The multilayer sandwich-structured shelves are separated using the proprietary BBS (Balancing Board System) and finished with natural wood veneer. The frame is made of carefully selected steel grades with differentiated mechanical properties and ballast-loaded with quartz aggregate, with adjustable quantity and type of filling.

The construction is based on two module types (A and B), which can be freely configured and combined within the entire structure.

Images may also present alternative finish options, illustrating available color and material variations.

The 5SMX12/BBS is a reference-level Rogoz Audio design intended for complex multi-component systems requiring both high load capacity and precise control of vibrational energy.

REVIEWS

ROGOZ AUDIO ANTI-VIBRATION AUDIO STAND 5SMX12/BBS

There was an improvement of the sound’s purity and transparency, and a better detail retrieval and more colorful presentation were noticeable when the Vertere landed on this rack. This improvement was primarily a result of a “blacker” background, or in other words of the lower background noise level, which is difficult to notice itself but impacts our perception of music. With both turntables on top of Rogoz I tried thumping and jumping around the rack to check whether or not it would influence playback. It didn’t, which proved a good isolation from even significant vibrations this rack provided.
I did a test with two tube preamplifiers too – my ModWright LS100 and Air Tight ATC-2. Placing them on 5SMX12/BBS shelves resulted on one hand with deepened saturation of sound that seemed even more natural, organic, on the other hand improved control and precision of presentation.

Vibration control and construction

Rogoz Audio racks are designed as systems controlling the flow of mechanical energy. In the 5SMX12/BBS model, the key role is played both by the mass of the structure and its modular architecture.

Different steel grades have been selected according to their mechanical properties (elasticity modulus), allowing deliberate tuning of the structure’s behavior across different frequency ranges.

Each level is separated using the proprietary BBS (Balancing Board System), introducing controlled freedom of movement for isolated masses while maintaining stable point support.

As a result, vibrational energy is not transferred linearly, but gradually dissipated through movement, friction, and internal material damping.

Shelves with varied thicknesses and multilayer construction promote vibration dissipation and reduce energy accumulation within specific frequency ranges.

Quartz aggregate ballast inside the columns acts as a mechanical filter, damping higher-frequency vibrations and stabilizing the operation of the entire structure.

CUSTOM CONFIGURATION

Custom configurations are available upon request — including dimensions, layout, and finish options. Each unit can be precisely tailored to match a specific audio system and its operating conditions.

The Balancing Board System

The reference kinematic anti-vibration Balancing Board System BBS (Patent P.404137) is used in the construction of models marked with the abbreviation BBS. The system consists of a threaded, height-adjustable spike made of high-fiber-content steel alloy, on top of which two elements are placed, each with an inner bearing. An intermediary (middle) element is made of carbon fiber and supports another element, a steel bearing inserted into the shelf. Point contact between the steel spike and the carbon intermediary element prevents movement of either element relative to its axis, but it allows pendular motion. Meanwhile, the contact between the intermediary element and the bearing inserted into the shelf allows restricted rolling motion and sliding motion. Consequently, the advantages of spike point support (contact area has been minimized and kinetic energy turns into heat) have been combined with the effects of deadening vibrations owing to to sliding friction and rolling resistance.
